Georgy Freiman has over 50 years of experience in the geological industry in Kazakhstan, ranging from a t geologist on an exploration team to the chief non-ferrous metals geologist of Kazakhstan. He has spent the last 35 years working in mining and geological consulting. His experience includes prospecting, exploration, and evaluation of dozens of deposits of non-ferrous metals, gold, copper, tin, tungsten, titanium, iron, potash, phosphorites, and other types of solid minerals. He is the author and co-author of numerous geological reports, feasibility studies, resource and reserve assessment reports according to both the State Reserves Committee and international standards (KAZRC, JORC), QA/QC audit reports, and Due diligence.
Freiman was one of the initiators of the creation of the Professional Association of Independent Experts on the Subsoil of Kazakhstan (PONEN) in 2015.
He holds a PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, is a Fellow Member of the Australian Institute of Geosciences, is an Academician of the International Academy of Informatization, and is a consultant to the UNECE. He is the author and co-author of over 70 publications, including eight monographs and reference books, and 16 instructions and guidelines for geological exploration.

Integration of Central Asian Countries in Attracting Global Investment through the Implementation of CRIRSCO International Reporting Standards

The report summarizes the experience of implementing the KAZRC Code in Kazakhstan, the evident achievements of which include:
– improvement in the quality of geological exploration works,
– establishment of the institute of Competent Persons,
– preparation of reports on Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves with their registration in the State Register,
– organization of work to ensure the quality of Competent Persons’ reports through the introduction of the reader practice;
– increasing the level of responsibility of Competent Persons through the introduction of QMR accreditation requirements,
– growth in the number of members of PONEN, including the participation of specialists from Central Asian countries and other foreign countries,
– ensuring continuous professional development of PONEN members through the regular organization of numerous training seminars,
– providing consultations to specialists and representatives of state sectoral bodies on CRIRSCO standards and on the procedures for joining CRIRSCO.
