Aliya Maussymbayeva, PhD, Candidate of Technical Sciences, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University. She is a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Mining Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
She is a graduate of the international Bolashak Scholarship Program (500 Scholars) and completed a research internship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA) in 2024–2025, specializing in Big Data Analytics and the digitalization of geological data.
Dr. Maussymbayeva is the author of more than 180 scientific and methodological publications, including 5 textbooks and 13 monographs, focused on geology, digital transformation, and innovation in the mining industry. She has served as both principal investigator and research team member in grant-funded projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.
Her research interests include digital technologies in geology, 3D modeling, predictive analytics, and the implementation of AI-driven approaches in mineral resource management. She is actively involved in developing academic programs and integrating international standards into engineering education.

Digitalization of Mining Enterprises in Kazakhstan: Current State and Prospects

The presentation analyzes the current level of digitalization in Kazakhstan’s mining enterprises. It reviews key areas of digital technology implementation, including ERP and MES systems, Big Data solutions, 3D geological modeling, and elements of digital twins.
Based on statistical data and practical case studies, the presentation demonstrates the impact of digital solutions on productivity growth, cost optimization, and improved management decision-making. Special attention is given to the development of a unified digital ecosystem and the investment attractiveness of the sector.
